Down at Worthy Farm

Down at Worthy Farm the midsummer sun kept the Nutshell Crew happy as we created our third Nutshell Garden... Green Futures have promoted us and we were given a 20’ x 20’ plot just at the entrance to the field. In front of us were the three lovely ponds and beside us the wooden entrance arch. Everyone worked hard and the garden was complete by Tuesday ready for the start of the festival on Wednesday.
The previous Wednesday was spent setting up camp in the Undleground. This was a logistical jigsaw but by sundown it was sorted and the storage and kitchen gazebos were up and functional. We spent the evenings sitting around our firedrum where Brian kept us entertained with his country and folk songs.
We held a sad little ceremony under the King’s Oak in remembrance of our friend Steffan who died tragically just before the festival and also scattered the ashes of former Nutshell Crew member Gary under that ancient tree..
Everyone is agreed that this years garden was the best to date..
